The Nilux Care Model:
Private Psychiatry Grounded in Depth, Breadth, and Precision.

We don’t just treat symptoms. We uncover patterns and blind spots, strengthen functioning, and help you recalibrate your life.

Nilux Care

At Nilux Clinic, we believe that clarity starts with depth. Our evaluation process is unlike anything you’ve experienced.

Instead of a rushed 90-minute intake, we begin with an extended, multidimensional and multisession assessment designed to uncover the full context of your mental and emotional landscape, enabling us to identify the root causes of your challenges — and your strengths.

The Nilux 6D Evaluation Model

Based on the biopsychosocial model of George L. Engel, our Nilux Care Evaluation Model spans six distinct but interconnected domains of functioning. Functionality is assessed across each domain.

The Six Domains

  • Biological 🧬

Taking mind-body approach, we assess not only your brain and mind, but all the rest of the body systems, including your full nervous system (central, peripheral as well as the second brain in your gut), cardiovascular, pulmonary, digestive (especially liver and gut), urinary (especially kidney), musculoskeletal, endocrine (hormones), integumentary (especially scars), and the rest.

We assess your genetics (especially pharmacogenetics), nutrition, alignment with circadian rhythm, non-psychiatric medical issues, and more.

We use your history (personal, family, social), physical exam, labs, imaging, EKG, as well as other appropriate tools to do the best possible evaluation.

We do not stop with just the breadth of evaluation, we go deep with each of the above. For example, when we evaluate the cognitive function of the brain, we employ various tools to examine across all six key areas of cognitive function: complex attention (information processing), executive function, learning and memory, language, perceptual-motor, as well as social cognition.

  • Psychological 🧠

We explore your thought patterns, emotional tendencies, internal conflicts, defenses, and learned behaviors—often rooted in earlier life experiences.

  • Social 👥

We consider how you function in your relationships—with friends, partners, family, colleagues, and community. Your interpersonal patterns often mirror deeper psychological dynamics.

  • Professional 📈

We assess how your mental health and personality traits intersect with your work life—from daily performance and career direction to your identity, ambitions, and values.

  • Environmental 🍃

We take into account your current living situation, financial and legal pressures, daily rhythms, and access to resources that support or hinder your growth. This also includes screen use as well the natural environment you interact with.

  • Spiritual 🕊️

We consider meaning, purpose, and how you relate to something greater than yourself. This includes belief systems, practices, values, and the role of awe, inspiration, or faith.

Optional Observational Elements

With your consent, we can observe you in your natural environments—such as at home, in social settings, or in the workplace—to gather direct, objective data. This is always optional. Even if you decline, a thorough mental status examination will still be conducted during regular sessions.

Evaluation of Functionality

We evaluate functionality in two layers:

(1) How each of your internal systems is functioning to affect your mental wellbeing

(2) Howe well you are functioning across the six Nilux domains

What Comes Next?

We identify opportunities to optimize your individual systems as well as your overall functionality across all the domains.

We then match your needs and these opportunities to the right tools (toolbox mapping), and partner with you to co-create a personalized care track that adapts over time.
